Buster Nuttkins has a treat

This is the squirrel we rescued..... The reason he is here is because he was badly hurt. He fell out of a tree and a dog got him. We have had him six days. He drinks goat milk. If you are ever wonder what type of squirrel it is, it is a red squirrel. I love squirrels and squirrel love me!

Hi!! I'm David from David's Chicken Farm. And this is my toad, Toady. He is a very good toad. He was the best toad when I had, but now I don't have him any more cause he hopped away. I love toads and toads love me.

How you make syrup

Hi, I am David from David's Chicken Farm. Have you ever tasted sap raw. It tastes good. But it tastes even better as syrup. Sap makes maple syrup. Click here and my mom will tell you how to do it. I made this video to show you. I love chicken and chickens love me.

Ducks!!!

 

Hi I'm David from David's Chicken Farm. We have ducklings now!! I need your help to name them. We call then Big and Little dot because one is big and one is small. Here is a picture to help you decide what names they should have. I am in the background with the walnuts. The ducks were watching me play. I love ducklings and ducklings love me!!

Do chickens laugh?

This is a laughing chicken. If you watch this video you will be laughing too. I am happy to announce it is almost our chick season. So now we are going to have new chicks soon, but that is not today. You can help me decide names for the chickens once we get them. I love chicken and chickens love me.

Hi I'm David from David's chicken farm and this is Ester. This was in spring. Ester is a friendly and nice chicken. She lays blue eggs. She is an Easter Egg chicken. I love spring chickens and spring chickens love me.

Book from the school library

Last week I got this book from my school library.  And the rooster in this book says co-co-cot-cot-cokale-tottle- toooo. I like this book a lot. I love chickens and chickens love me.

My mom's Chewy Ginger Cookies

These cookies are good and yummy for kids to eat. And they are very easy to make. And the ingredients are:

(my mom wrote this part)

Ingredients
¾ Cup shortening
1 Cup sugar
1 egg
¼ Cup molasses
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger

Start by creaming the shortening and the sugar together. Then add the egg, molasses and vanilla and mix well. After combining the dry ingredients in another bowl, add them to the mix. Make sure your dough is well combined.

Next make the dough into 1 inch balls. Take some extra sugar and put it in a bowl. You then roll the balls in the sugar. This is a wonderful thing for children to help with. This dusting of sugar not only adds a little sweet, but it makes the cookies sparkle when they are cooked! Place the balls on an UN-greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. 

Christmas Chickens

These chickens are my chickens, Ester and Goldie playing chicken Frisbee. In  spring I am going to get new chicks.  I might get an Australorp, a Buckeye, a Delaware, a Dorking, a Japanese Bantam, a Lamona,  a Nankin, a Welsummer, or a Wynadotte. (mom note: this is his WISH list. I told him I doubted we would be able to find many of these breeds around where we live.) I love Christmas chickens and Christmas chickens love me!

Christmas chicken

This is a funny video! And I like it because I  have never seen chickens singing before. And I think you will like it too. I love chickens and chickens love me, because I give them their favorite food, saltine crackers.

Me, Ester and Audi

This is me and Audi. Audi has never met a chicken before. So I let Audra pet Ester. Chickens are my favorite and chicken love me because I like to give them lots of their favorite food which is saltine crackers. I love chickens and chickens love me.

Ester's First egg

Ester is laying eggs and Ester's egg is green! I am excited that Ester is laying eggs. When Ester started laying eggs last night I was very shocked! Now we have two chickens laying some darn yummy eggs. Ester was not laying for awhile. ( Mom note: Ester was a chick we had bought spring 2012 and had NEVER laid an egg before)  I am happy for Ester.  Goldie's egg is the brown eggs. I'm getting another Ester breed chicken next spring and another Goldie breed next spring. I love chickens and chickens love me!
